Congratulations VISION 2006 Finalists!
VISION 2006 Finalists
The night of the awards show, VISION presented a video documentation for each category showing how each individual and/or group has Validated, Inspired, Succeed, Initiate, Outreach, and Networked in the Hmong community. VISION is excited for this chance to show three great finalists in each category nominated. Even though the night will come out with a finalist taking home the award, VISION believes that all finalists have done great things for the community and should be recognized. All are winners in the Hmong community! (Click on nominee's name for photo)

Victor Vang To Be Honored with "The" 2006 VISION Award
The VISION Award is a chance for VISION to honor a member and/or group in the Hmong community that VISION feels has validated the
concerns, voices and visions of young Hmong adults in the community. This can be in the works that they have done in the community, support they have
given the community, and the opportunities they have provided to the community. The individual and/or group inspires Hmong young adults to change the
community for the better. This person acts out of goodwill and motivates and inspires others around him/her to contribute to making it a better community.
They also give Hmong young adults the tools, the support, and confidence to
succeed in reaching individual goals and visions. They serve as a catalyst for
innovative initiates and outreaches to the community. Last, but not least, they have built a network for Hmong young adults in order to focus on issues in
the community.
Victor Vang is an individual with inspiration, encouragement, and influential. Offering his time to help the community by creating sports tournaments, using his time to keep kids off the streets, volunteering at organizations like Face 2 Face and Camp Sunshine, and leading his basketball team called "Fo'Sho," Victor Vang is utilizing sports in new levels. As a co-founder of the Midwest Players Club, started in early 2000, Vang has teamed up with the Minnesota Timberwolves to help co-sponsor the fourth annual Asian Basketball "Winter Classic" tournament. Regularly, Vang can be found at Arlington High School recreational after school programs coaching students how to play sports. Through his hard work and dedication to utilizing sports in making a better Hmong community, VISION is honored to present Victor Vang the VISION Award on August 26, 2006.
